A couple of days ago comedian
Michael Richards, formerly Kramer from Seinfeld, flipped on some people
giving him trouble in the audience. He went on a crazy rant himself
using the word "nigger" over and over again. He also made
some funny references including "50 years ago you'd be upside down
in a tree with a fork up your ass." In the news they said it wasn't
funny, but I found it funny personally.
Am I personally racist? No,
I can say for a fact that I am racist. Who is? People that use the word
nigger are racist. Not just white people, but anyone. Think about this,
blacks (or African Americans as they like to be called) are allowed
to come out and use nigger over and over again in songs, movies, comedy
skits, and everyday speech. For example if Dave Chapelle were to come
out and say "What's up niggas?", people would laugh and have
no problem. Now if I were to do that, I would have a load of 9mms pushed
into my face.
Just goes to show that societys
answer for solving racism is reversing it. I personally have never enslaved,
hung, or treated someone differently because they're black, mexican,
or even gay. Because of my ancestors and their views over 100 years
ago, I lose ground at college offers, job offers, and other places.
Companies get tax breaks for hiring minorities. What the hell is with
that? How am I supposed to compete with something like that? If you
had two choices:
a) Me, with a degree in Information
Science
b) An "African American"
with the same degree
Any choice other than b will
raise red flags out there. People will automatically raise the racial
flag. Not only that, but the company will save money on taxes by choosing
b so why not pick the second person? Besides, when people find out I
was the one who wrote this, I'll probably be fired on the spot.
Back to Richards, he used the
word nigger because he was probably on something at the time. However
his slip of the tounge brings out some interesting debates. I feel it's
racist towards me to restrict me from using the word nigger. It's not
like I use it a lot, but if it's acceptable for some to use it than
it should be that way for all people. That would be the fairest way
to view things. Until then, I am going to be very offended by people
that use the word cracker when talking about me. Cause afterall, I am
not a cracker, I'm a whitie.
Here's
the video with Richards rant in case you're looking for it.
